There is a monthly Sacred Harp singing every 3rd Sunday from 3-5:30pm at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Brattleboro (directions and parking info below). We sing mostly from the Sacred Harp, but also have loaner copies of the red edition of the Northern Harmony available This facebook group is a place for people who have attended or may wish to attend in the future.

Listeners, beginners and people of all ages are invited to sing. Free of charge. No musical experience necessary. We sing at a church but this singing is open to all not only church attendees. You are not required to stay for the whole length of the singing. We share a potluck snack during a break midway through the singing. Directions to St. Michael’s for those coming from out of town: Coming from the N or E: From I-91 Exit 3 or Rte 9 from NH, turn south on Rte 5/Putney Rd at the traffic circle. After you cross the bridge over the West River (where it meets the Connecticut River) look for St Michael’s on your left (about 1.8 miles from Exit 3). Coming from the S or W: from I-91 Exit 2, or Rte 9, go: east on Western Ave, which becomes High St, to the center of Brattleboro. Turn left onto Main St, which becomes Putney Rd as you travel north. Pass the Town Common on your left, then look for St. Michael’s on the right. at the church: Note – we sing upstairs, the building is accessible and there is an elevator, however, if you are not familiar with the layout of the church you may find it easier to navigate to the singing room by the street level entrance. Parking is behind the church below the level of the road. Turn into the parking lot via the driveway on Putney Road, marked with a One Way sign. Additional parking is on Bradley Avenue on the church side of the street only, or on Tyler St. From the parking lot, enter through the red door on the lower level, off the narrow section of the parking lot. It’s on the east side of the office wing, at the end of a short covered ramp and go up the staircase at your left as you enter the building, the room we will sing in will be to your right at the top of the stairs. If you cannot use the stairs there is an elevator in the building, but you may find it easier to park on the street and enter via that upper level. If you park on the street at the level of the church (please park only on the same side of the road as the church) enter via the door with a ramp leading up to a porch with benches and proceed straight ahead through the doors and down the corridor. We’ll be singing in the upstairs meeting room.
